All in all, i was glad to have those peeps' companionship today, as well as during our trek to Lata Berembum from Monday to Wed. Felt refreshed and recharged after feeling abit low sometime back.

With all these peeps around i am just looking forward to everyday! ( well..maybe until i got a job... heh heh.)

Effort is not enough!

Dear avid readers, came across this mail that my gf forwarded to me quite some time ago, and i've decided to share with you. Enjoy....

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine.

Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a youngster. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something.

Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.

"What?!" the owners exclaimed. "He hardly did anything!"

So they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us an itemized bill."

The man sent a bill that read:

Tapping with a hammer ........................... $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap ............................ $ 9, 998.00

Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort in your life makes all the difference.

Sharing, helping and selflessness

Dearie was a sick gal for the past 3 days. I felt very sorry for her. Just wish for her to recover real soon. Get back your voice dear!

Tonight was a night well spent( yeah i skated again!); Some beginner slalomer came to the court, greeted by the sliding team boys and many others.

Unlike the thursday session, today was fruitful, because i somehow enlighten a young lad on the gracefulness of slalom skating. Certainly i'm looking forward for our next session together!

I supposed sharing and helping is something that will never cease to exist in my blood. I help as and when i can. There are times when people around you may doubt your over friendliness / enthusiasm as an ulterior motive.... Selflessness is an art i am still trying to achieve, and i hope i can be strong enough to pursue my ideal belief on selflessness, without pondering how other people think of me.

3rd Class warrior

To most, 3rd class is nonsense. I think in fact, 3rd class REALLY IS NONSENSE.

In my realm, 3rd class is all i could ask for.

Some couple of hours ago, i couldnt breath properly because i was afraid. Staring at the half loading results page felt like somewhat between helplessness and frustration. Failure was the goat's way of life, but certainly this time round he DID not want it to be part of his 2007 life....

Some fast facts abt the goat:

1. I did not get a single A for any of my core modules in my 4 years of Uni
2. Cs and sometimes Bs are a norm.
3. My FYP was a B+ ( but hey, i'm rejoicing upon this cos of my real awful encounter with LOUSY NG)
4. I only start my exams revision like a week before the first papers

To those reading this, if you still have a chance to make a difference, Do not adopt those habits of the goat.

I did not type this post to complain about my plight, because i am someone who believes that God is fair. What he took away from me, he gave it back in another form.

For me, that 'another form' was sweet happiness.

Thank you SCE gang, for making my 4 year mistake a less painful one. Thank you all for being there to answer my queries and woes whenever i couldnt handle it alone.

Thank you all for waking up very early just to get hot seats for many of us in LWN / ADM library

Thank you all for the entertaining lunch hours during mugging session, especially the animal gang during final sem!

Thank you all for helping me in my 208 assignment, without which i wont be able to type this thank you post

Thank you all. I will do good. Our memories will echo into eternity.

Banana Eating week

Yoz all!

I am quite glad to update this particular post, because its a BANANA EATING WEEK!

I munch on bananas to prevent my muscles from likelihood of cramps:

The previous sunday i overestimated myself on PAYA LEBAR AIRBASE run way challenge. Took my slightly rockered urban skates to clock a 30km distance. Mind you, the biggest wheel beneath my aluminium frame was like...erm.. 76mm? Thats killing yourself when you even want to think of keeping up with speed skaters whose wheels are like...erm... 110mm? haha!!!!

Monday i was starting to feel my body's wobbliness. But then it was yet another lonely evening. So i clipped my slalom skates( different from my urban skates ) and plod my way to the double court. Monday was a mistake lah basically. I could feel the lactic building up within my hamstrings and shin. I did not enjoy the session.

Tuesday was yet another full body trashing session. It started with a humbling 2 hr batminton session in Tampines Safra with my grad trip mates. We got so into the game that we extended one more hour in the sauna-like court. Drove to TM to eat and then share photos for the grad trip. That, was one of the best afternoons i ever had for the past few months. Laughed until almost fell off the bench in BK.....
After that session, i drove home, changed up and met Q for yet another round of trash-the-upper-body regime : bouldering. Its something i had neglected for almost a year. Sometimes, i wonder how long more i can do bouldering before i decide to sell of my equipment. Its definitely more taxing in strength compared to free style skating and you have to pay to use the indoor bouldering gym. For now i will make it a once-a-week activity and i hope when i work next time i can still fufil this little plan of mine.

Wednesday, my body complained, especially the tendons along my fingers, my forearms, my lats, my hamstrings, my quads, my shin, my neck! Somewhere residing beneath my right knee is this acute pain that comes and goes. It sort of freaked me out abit. I must have pushed myself too hard doing right legged cone tricks. Gosh!!!!

I drove the lazy one to ECP and met the rest of my grad trip mates for a humbling skating session. Was glad that most of the guys enjoyed the session. My pet and the tall one even had intention to get their personal skates once they worked! Feels damn good cos i managed to introduce the passion to my 4 year old study-khakis. This skating passion had another implication to me, that it will be a platform for us to meet up more regularly when we start to have our own lives in future. Happy!
Though i was complaining quite abit while driving the parade commander and the lazy one back, i fell into a slight trance under the effects of an evening drizzle, cruising with the after-office-hour-crowd. It somehow calmed my nerves even though the rear lights of the automobiles were stinging my eyes. I got home not long after, feeling bored, and slipped on my slalom skates. This slalom session was fruitful; i was able to free my mind off my loneliness. That, alone, was all i could ask.

So in total, i clocked a total of

Monday: 3 BANANAS
Tuesday: 2 BANANAS
Wednesday: 2 BANANAS
Thursday: 2BANANAS

Total : 9 ( That partly explains why i frequent the toilet for big business ha!)
