Ajitsen Ramen???

Every friday morning would be tuition day for the aces. I also try to keep up to my slalom cone trick regime every friday 730pm at MSCP behind admiralty mrt station. This friday that just went past was a fruitful one; I've managed to grasp the concept of some real nasty jumping cone tricks. It left me walking home( i dont skate home with my cone trick skates) with a pair of really sore thighs, painful right ankle and an aching lats by saturday morning.

And yes, every saturday morning for the goat is dedicated to the tuition aces as well. I have a total of 5 children under me, 3 individual tuition sessions ( 2 hrs each) and a one group tuition session consisting of 2 children( 4 hrs each session). So by the time i reached 2pm every saturday noon, i have this deoxygenated sensation in me.

Unlike any saturday noon, i tried out ice skating with dearie. Its an activity i look very forward to, especially when i heard many fellow skaters mention that ice skating is "one notch" lower than inline skating. There's only one avenue for ice skating in Singapore by the way; its in Fuji Ice Palace, Jurong Entertainment centre(JEC).

On my way to JEC, there was a qualifying leg competition for some skating event. Naturally I was nailed on the spot for a while.




This is aggressive skating, the most hardcore form of skating. In my impression, its the cheering and yelling that keeps these skaters wanting to do more. The louder you clap and cheer the faster their adrenaline rush and the better they perform. Its a total different breed of skaters. This is many many notches higher than freestyle slalom skating.

Now back to ice skating....

In my own opinion, the differences between a pair of rented ice skate and inline skate lies in the stopping principle. There are sharp mini spikes on the tip of the frame of ice skates, and the frame is attached flimsily on the boot itself. This implies that if you were to execute a slide at high speed, the weight should never be put in front of the front tip of the frame. If not you will end up yelling for a crashmat in mid air. There is also a jutted tail on the other side of the frame. Not user friendly for me who's very used to short frames. My interpretation is, if you really have to do sliding you have to sit slighly on your hips and use your calves and ankles 100% to change the line of your sliding heel.

Probably these spikes and tails are used more for figure skating, to aid in the spinning and double/ triple axe turns.

On a rented pair of ice skates,you wont experience a 100% power transfer when you exert a push on your boot; the frame feels wobbly. Hence all the talk only on slides..heh.

I saw a couple of youngsters on ice hockey skates. ( the frame looks simply like a blade detached from a knife, with no spikes nor tails found on rented skates).They could execute perfect swift crossovers from point to point. Not only that, they could do those very-impressive-inline-skating-slides on ice easily.....

Having trained very hard the night before in MSCP, i did not want to explore the possibility of slides on my rented skates. Because of that, the ice skating session was a humbling one. BUT...BUT... at least i could still execute my hockey stop at cruising speed.

Some back ground knowledge on ice skating:

You see those skaters circled in red? They are moving hazards. They cannot skate well and they have to rely on the metal sledge structure to move from point to point. Best to stay far from them when you are at the rink.

After our stay at the ice rink ( left with more soreness on my shin, all thanks to the flimsy frame ). Dearie insisted our dinner to be at Ajitsen Ramen. We both headed down to IMM, the shutter bus style.

Supposed to meet XH for breakfast cos she's gonna leave for her europe trip( 3 weeks my goodness ) with MT tonight 11plus pm. I wont be able to send her off and thus i felt the need to struggle out of my warm snug bed at 812am this morning.
This is what i had for my breakfast. It's really been awhile since i had those at the correct timing.

I had to get up early for this XH breakfast meet; Sleep was good for me the previous night.

And yes, if you ask me again, i dont think you have to go bond your hair, it looks good as it is, UNLESS you are keen to shoot in the RING 4. IN Just come back safe and let me criticise you more heh heh.

One good excursion in NTU

I was quite disgusted with this guy sitting opposite me.


First he was sneezing like mad, and slowly ..what lies between him and me... was....



Did you just see the pile in red? I swore it was full of his mucus... because each time he sneezed i could almost hear him wiping off the viscousness from his nose...YUCKS!

I hope whoever is reading this blog now, and happen to know this man, please get him to bring his little trash bin.... just don't spread the influenza killers around the adm library.

The business times stealer wasnt around when i came. I had to wait for my external reinforcements for lunch. Today my reinforcement decided that i was NOT to name even her initials because of the story that is to come....So right now as i'm writing, i've decided to call her Ms Reinforcement.

Ms reinforcement was nice to drive and pick the goat up for a hot meal in the new cant 3. After looming around the vicinity facing hall 16, she skilfully parked her car along the lane. Both of us conveniently went to the canteen and enjoyed like more than 45min of eat-cum-crap session.

Only minutes after we walked out of the canteen, towards the vehicle, both of us realised that we just had one of the most expensive NTU meal ever in our student life.


Now, since when did this post appear beside our vehicle?

Ms reinforcement's vehicle was clamped, courtesy of the campus security of NTU.

The cost to unclamp was to be 30bucks. As i stood brain frozen under the cool cloudy sky, reality still havent sink into my head, my reinforcement's mood went nasty. Frankly, it was like one of the few moments i ever saw her gonna burst and erupt.

And so i did the next natural thing, to read the contents pasted on the windscreen.

Ms reinforcement ordered me to contact the campus security. In that split second i was quite taken aback. Could sense something really cooking beneath her skull.... scary...
I felt obliged to put the conversation between me, mr campus security, and ms reinforcement, just to illustrate the steaming sensation coming from ms reinforcement

Goat : Erh hellow, this is campus security rite?

cs : yesh this is

Goat : I'm calling with regards to vehicle number XX 1XXXB, would like you to come over and unclamp the.....

Ms R {retorts}: Just ask them to come. We will pay them. Here.

Goat {trying hard to interpret and make sense}: ....erh ok, is it ok that you come here and we pay you the 30 bucks? Erm, since you all have to come over anyway rite?

cs: sorry sir, you have to come over and...

( At this point,Ms R already wanted to intercept; she seemingly knew what cs was gonna say, she went on and groan and moan until i couldnt really hear what cs was saying)

cs {continued}: ...payment by nets or cash card. We cannot accept cash.

Goat {rather speechless as Ms R stared at him awaiting for a solution} : ok oh well guess we have to come over....

What happened next was a spate of hurlings and abuses from Ms R, saying that these people are dumb, inflexible , cant make do with situations. It went on and on, from alongside NIE outskirts then towards the zebra crossing linking to canteen A. Then a few more series of curses at the campus security, then the lift at B4 beside the ceramics lab.

In all i wished both of us never had lunch in canteen 3 in the first place. Initially i suggested that place because i thought of the zhi char food there.

Ironically both me and Ms R only ate mixed veg rice. What a joke.... -_-"

Now, i stood in front of campus security in awe... I bet most of you reading this have no idea where it was. We both never knew, but we had the aid of the clamping white paper remember?
So we went in, in small beats of perspiration. Thank goodness, Ms R "desteamed" somehow after a small trek to where we were then.

But Ms R did not hold back on her emotions. She straight away confront the aunties and uncles don in uniform that we could have saved all the trouble walking and wait there INSTEAD OF HAVING TO WALK OVER. I folded my arms in silence watching the way Ms R talking out loud as she made payments. An amusing scene of a petite lady displaying her might in foreign ground. Power!!!!!!!!

After handing 15 bucks to Ms R, both of us were offered a ride on campus security's exclusive mitsubitshi lancer hatch back 1. 5L manual car back to where all shit started.

I was glad they made the offer, if not i swear Ms R would burn the whole campus security down. Thank God.

The driver uncle started telling us about their reluctance to clamp vehicles in the first place, and that clamping had to be done because some dean complained about abuse of parking space from students.

I swear this was the closest i was to a campus security vehicle. Ever. In my whole 4 years in uni.

I had never been placed in the back seat of a police car, but somehow, in one way or another, i think i had that feeling when i was seated in the security vehicle.

And the unclamping process begins... Featuring unclamping auntie and her marvels!




Alas, the whole NTU excursion was over. Ms R by then was simply glad that this whole uncalled-for trip ended. Quickly, i hopped onto Ms R's vehicle. Saying my haste bye-byes to the uncle and auntie who went down to unclamp the wheel.

I peered through the rear mirror and saw unclamping auntie taking the clamping mechanism which she removed from the wheel earlier, moving towards this illegally parked dark blue lancer that escaped the first visit of campus security.

If you happen to be the driver of a dark blue lancer who found your wheel clamped around 325pm in front of hall 16, NTU on 24th April 2007, i just wanna say sorry for bringing the clamps onto you... Opps!

I went back to adm library, wanting badly to share my 1hr-plus misadventures.

Dwellings before exams

Yo all!

Its been a very long time since i updated my blog. Alright, actually i dont intend to pen much over here. But hey, its my last semester in school, so i will share with you, keen readers of my blog.

As most of you would have noticed, this sem's mugging wasnt done in lwn. Its only for ghosts. I'm sure most of you had already seen this.

The goat had 2 papers on wed and thursday, and lost alot of grass grazing time on the plains. He missed his time with the milk maids and the farmers who so oftenly pampered him with love, care and affection. Lets just hope that the poultry gang will get to smell the freshness ,basking in warm happy sunlight soon.

I just wanna thank God for bringing my little one back safely. Amen.

4-3-2-1...run!

Under grizzly bear's command, the animals did a 4-3-2-1 run(400m, walk, 300m, walk again... yeah you get the idea of interval training )on a monday evening. As usual i would jog the school perimeter before heading to src. Aiming to burn the pear shape off my goat body.

"4-3-2-1" literally took our breath away. The accumulation of lactic acid within our limbs made us felt pretty alive after a day spent in air conditioning environment. Apart from grizzly bear, the rest of the animals had a REAL humble session. We ran slower and slower as we downscale the distance, each time cursing the runner in front to slow down and yelling our fatigue out at the same time. That's my definition of "HIGH!"

I pretty loved such sessions. Even the bear thought so too. Every one of us had our fair share of screaming and rantings on the track. I bet if you were a resident in hall 6 you would have thrown eggs at us.

Pain is good; pain is your friend( i quote demi moore from G.I. JANE)....

Just one day ago sy was nice enough to return my my hp. Left them on her pick up after supper. The only sad thing was, she forgot to bring the cones! ( there goes my only for m of enjoyment on sunday night). In all, i want to thank her for being a sweet girl in delivering my hp. Good job well done!

Dearie is coming back today. As i'm writing this post, i'm anticipating her call. So now its time for me to head to the bed.
